1. Information We Collect — Travelers
MayDay Passport collects and stores the following information locally on your device:
- Profile information (name, home country)
- Optional medical information (blood type, allergies, medications, medical conditions) — self-reported by you for personal emergency reference
- Emergency contact details (names, phone numbers, email addresses)
- Trip information (destinations, dates)
- Document references stored in your Safety Vault
- Safety Circle memberships and check-in activity
- Language and app preferences
Medical and health information you provide is entirely optional and is stored locally on your device. This information may be included on your Safety Card if you choose to share it during an emergency. MayDay Passport does not transmit your medical information to our servers or any third party.
2. Information We Collect — Travel Advisors
If you register as a travel advisor, MayDay Passport collects and stores the following information:
- Advisor profile (name, agency name, advisor code)
- Client connection records
- Messages sent to and received from clients
- Dashboard activity and check-in prompts
Advisor data is synced with our servers to enable client management and messaging features.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide the features of MayDay Passport:
- Displaying relevant emergency numbers for your travel destination
- Enabling SOS alerts to your designated emergency contacts
- Calculating your Travel Ready Score
- Facilitating Safety Circle check-ins and group alerts
- Connecting you with your Travel Advisor (if applicable)
- Enabling advisor-to-client communication and trip management
4. Location Data
MayDay Passport may request access to your device location when you use the SOS feature. Location data is shared only with your designated emergency contacts as part of an SOS alert and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
GPS coordinates are captured only at the moment of sending an SOS. The app does not continuously track your location in the background.
5. Data Storage and Security
Most of your data is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. Some features (trips, Safety Circles, advisor connections) may sync data with our servers to enable collaboration. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Safety Vault documents are protected by a user-created PIN and stored locally on the device. Screenshot protection is enabled on premium content screens to prevent unauthorized capture of sensitive information.
6. What We Do Not Store
MayDay Passport does not store the following on its servers:
- Copies of identity documents (passports, visas, IDs) — these are stored locally in your Safety Vault on your device only
- Payment or credit card information — all billing is handled by Apple or Google
- Biometric data
- Continuous location tracking data — GPS coordinates are captured only at the moment of an SOS alert
7. Notifications and Messaging
MayDay Passport may send push notifications for trip reminders, Safety Circle check-in prompts, SOS alerts, and advisor messages. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through the app settings or your device settings.
Message content is transmitted through our servers to facilitate delivery but is not used for advertising or shared with third parties. No notification content is stored on our servers beyond the time needed for delivery.
8. Subscriptions and Payment Data
MayDay Passport offers optional subscription plans (Essential and Pro). All subscription payments are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or account credentials.
Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to track entitlements but does not receive your personal profile information.
9. Third-Party Links
MayDay Passport contains links to third-party websites, including charitable organizations and official government visa and immigration portals. These links are provided for informational purposes only.
We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit. No personal data is shared with these third-party websites when you tap a link in the app.
10. Your Rights
You can delete your profile data, emergency contacts, trips, and vault documents at any time through the app. A "Delete My Account" option is available in the Profile screen, which permanently removes all your data from both the device and our servers.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
11. Children's Privacy
MayDay Passport is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
